Holy crap jabac I love your whole list!
nicole I'm pretty into Towers. Heard it before and was not down but it's way good these days.
I still need something crushing though.

Thanks for the recommend dog but it falls extremely short for these ears. I think it's the major five chords, sludge and lack of craft. B is too high for me as well. F# sounds right these days.
I'll revise my request. Crushing, tricky, artsy and tight. Never fast but still has a musical tempo. Sorta like Mare without the non crushing bits mixed with the shots/ beef riffs of Coalesce. Sick drumming is always a must. I may have to stop everything else I'm doing in order to facilitate my own ears with what they need.
I remember hearing a Tooth And Nail band that seemed to be in this zone. I can't find it though, don't even remember the name.

NICOLE: Deers are another band I stumbled across on myspace... I sent them a message asking if they do indeed intend on coming but haven't heard back yet... TOWERS!!! Yes! Black Kites aren't bad, but my favorite part of In First Person was how bass heavy they were. Is that dude doing anything? Plus, he had a keen beard! BUN: Crushing is rare for me. My attention span is too short for crushing. MORE MUSIC: We'll Dance Like Ghosts On Rooftops www.myspace.com/welldancelikeghostsonrooftopsAwesome screamo. Deceased. There may or may not be a discog available at some point. It doesn't seem like it. Us, Haunted Bodies www.myspace.com/ushauntedbodiesSomebody from Loma Prieta is in this band. Smile (not The Smile) www.myspace.com/bandsmileThey're no THE SMILE but they are still pretty radical. Ursa Theodorus www.myspace.com/hurontribesReally fucking cool, again deceased. Some sung vocals which may or may not be cool with everyone.

Benn from In First Person is focusing on his band Pyramids these days (not the hydra head band of the same name...). but not nearly as bass heavy. In First Person was tuned to B or A depending on the song, plus Tom used a baritone guitar. so, other bands are unlikely to compare to that kind of heaviness you can some pyramids mp3s here: www.paramnesiarecords.com/releases.htm

YESSS!! Best random find from like 3-4 years ago. I am listening to the ORCA myspace and really diggin it right now. Definitelly wanna see them live. Also, took me long enough. ZOZOBRA. fuckin hell... Also, a lot of Old Man Gloom. Also KRALLICE ( www.myspace.com/krallice , One of the dudes from Behold the Arctopus is in this band. ), and Altar of Plagues ( www.myspace.com/altarofplagues , brutal band name from ireland.) Both are wicked black metal bands, dont wanna compare them to Wolves in the Throne Room, but if you like them you'll probably dig both those bands.

Monsters are pretty cool!
At times they do sound a lot like Battles, but that certainly ain't a bad a thing.
Good form, Soyster!

epmd - back in business
no question, they top the richter scale.
music like this is the perfect balance for hardcore and should always be played between bands at hardcore shows.
